Custom Web Design in Toronto
Strategic, story-driven websites that build trust, communicate your value, and grow your business — built by a multi-award-winning Toronto agency.
The Problem
Most Toronto businesses have a website that’s getting in the way
Toronto is a competitive market. If your website looks dated, takes too long to load, or doesn’t quickly explain why you’re the right choice, you’re losing leads to competitors who got those things right.
- Your design hasn’t kept pace and the site looks older than your business is
- Visitors can’t quickly tell what makes you different from the next firm in your category
- Mobile experience is rough and a meaningful share of leads bounce
- You don’t show up for the searches your customers are actually running
The Transformation
A Toronto website that earns trust and works for you
A great website in Toronto isn’t about flashy design. It’s about a few specific things working together.
- Clear messaging that quickly explains what you do and who you do it for
- Design that fits your brand and gives visitors confidence you’re the right fit
- Fast, mobile-first development that holds up across every device
- Search and AI search visibility for the queries your customers actually run

Young Marines
The Brief
The Young Marines is a national youth program for ages eight through high school graduation. It is for youth who want to work hard, lead with integrity, and grow into strong, confident leaders.
Young Marines came to us with a dated website. The design felt old, especially on mobile, and even simple updates required an outside vendor and days of waiting.
The Approach
With only one person on their side managing the project, The Story became an extension of their team. We helped guide decisions, simplify the process, and create a website that was professional, fun, and easier to use.
The site was built to better communicate their mission, improve mobile usability, and give their team more control over updates.
The Results
The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Youth in the program have said the website “looks like us now,” and the Young Marines team is thrilled with the transformation.
Today, Young Marines has a website that is easier to navigate, better reflects their mission, and gives their team the ability to make updates internally.
The new website has captured our identity in how it looks and the messaging. It’s vibrant, fun, and has an upbeat feel, not cluttered, just easy and engaging to read.

FAQs
What does a custom Toronto web design project typically cost?
Most projects fall in the $10,000 to $50,000 range, with smaller engagements starting around $5,000 and larger multi-location or ecommerce projects running higher. Our minimum project size is $5,000. We provide a fixed quote up front so there are no surprises.
How long does a custom website take?
Most websites launch in eight to sixteen weeks, depending on scope, content readiness, and how quickly we get feedback. Multi-location and ecommerce projects often take longer because of the additional functionality involved. We share a clear timeline at the start of every engagement.
Do you only work with Toronto businesses?
No. Our Toronto office serves clients across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario, but we also work with clients across Canada and the United States from our Ottawa and Hoffman Estates offices. About 60% of our work is local; the rest is national or international.
What platforms do you build on?
Most of our websites are built on WordPress because it gives our clients the easiest path to manage their own content after launch. For ecommerce, we build on WooCommerce or Shopify depending on the client’s needs. We don’t build on platforms our clients can’t maintain themselves.
Do you handle SEO and AI search visibility too?
Yes. Every website we build includes the SEO foundations — schema markup, page structure, fast load times, mobile-first design, and local relevance signals — plus the structure and content patterns that AI-powered search tools use to surface businesses. We also offer ongoing SEO support after launch.
Can you make my website AODA compliant?
Yes. Accessibility is one of our specialized areas. We can build a new website to AODA / WCAG 2.0 AA standards or remediate an existing site. If your organization has 50 or more employees in Ontario, AODA compliance is legally required.
What kinds of Toronto businesses do you typically work with?
Professional services (legal, accounting, consulting), nonprofits, educational programs, real estate, healthcare, multi-location and franchise businesses, and B2B service firms. We work best with businesses where the website plays a real role in growth — not just a brochure online.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes. Most of our clients stay with us for hosting, security updates, content changes, accessibility maintenance, and ongoing SEO. About a third of our work each year is for clients we’ve worked with before.
